Week 2

Well, im about halfway through week two and I am actually feeling really good. I am starting to see changes, like toning in my arms and legs and a little in the abs. I haven't weighed myself yet because anytime i start doing an intense work out, i usually gain a little first or stay the same for a little before i lose so it is discouraging, i dont like to look :)

But ive been doing good on my diet and on my exercise and been consistent! Im noticing the workouts, although still VERY hard, are getting more doable, i dont have nausea, or anything like that. Still drinking my very diluted Gatorade during the workout and making sure to eat something after even if its just half a protein bar. I know that the harder i work, the stronger i get, and the easier it will become for me so im trying to work hard!

day 3

day 3... Im sick, but today was actually cardio recovery day for my work out video, so it worked out perfect.. i thought it was going to be all cardio but it was the opposite... no cardio and lots of squats, yoga moves, etc.. It was actually perfect because I wasnt going to work out due to my sickness thinking it would probably make me cough a bunch, but since there was hardly any cardio (although I was sweating, trust me), it was a good break for my lungs :D
Glad i decided just to try it out and see if i could do it instead of skipping.

yay to feeling healthy

Day one again

Well after hurting myself last week and not being able to consistently follow the calendar that they give you, I decided that the work out regimen starts over today. No big deal since I only worked out twice last week. Just an extra week of my diet. I guess my type A personality wants to be able to check off the days correctly. For example it has Monday- insert work out, and a place to check off. each day has a different work out and theres 13 DVDs.

The good news is today I worked out the same work out as last time and I got through without pushing pause or feeling nauseated. I poured about a 1/4 of a cup of Gatorade into my water and I feel like it gave me a boost.

Still not excited about having to work out hard core every single day....

confessions

Well,

So its Saturday and the first day I have worked out since Monday. On Monday I hurt my back doing the fit test. I don't know how or what I did. I have a long history of working out so I'm aware of good body mechanics, but I just screwed up and did something wrong. SO. I haven't worked out, not because I didn't want to but I was in lots of pain. Pretty sure I pulled a muscle. So good news is, nothing serious and I'm back in the game. I did the work out today that I was supposed to do Tuesday, (wasn't sure how to handle that since everyday has a certain work out youre supposed to do) but Ill probably start anew Monday, back on the planned schedule.

I will say though that even though I couldn't work out, I stuck with my diet. I am proud of myself for this because I could have easily said screw it until next week. I enjoy the diet. I don't follow the meals in the booklet but create my own and watch calories. My fav is going to get a Salmon roll and miso soup. Yum... Its kind of a challenge on days when I have clinical (once a week usually) when I only get 2 breaks, I can't eat 5 small meals. But I just ate healthy and did th normal 3 meals a day thing on that day.

I'll be honest, the work out today was VERY hard. My main problem is that I cannot get past the nausea! I get so nauseous. I had to push pause about 3 times just to keep myself from yacking. It really sucks because Its different than just pushing through if you're tired (which believe me I am), it's, if I don't stop I absolutely will... ya know, puke. Gross I know. I hope this gets better as I go on and that I can get through a work out without pushing pause!

Also a trick i read about online is if you pour about 1/4 a cup of Gatorade into your water, its a good replenisher without so many calories and sugar. I did that today post workout and I could literally FEEL my energy coming back. I also ate a "recovery" power bar and I feel so great. My muscles are tired but usually when I work out really hard I tend to be completely dead after and want to go to sleep. now i feel energized.

Anyways, can't wait to see results. Just keep reminding myself of that.

Day one

Well,

Today was.... interesting. My diet went well, I actually enjoy eating healthy. A lot of the things I am eating I already ate just learning portion control and abstaining from any sweets, coffee, etc. Also increasing my protein even more which is hard since I dont eat meat. The work out or should I say the "fit test" OH EM GEE. So hard. I got through it. did fairly well, but I felt like a noodle afterwards. My brother who was doing it with me, threw up for a good 10 min afterwords. poor kid.

Going to keep going. looking forward to getting results. I took some before pictures yesterday so Ill post those at the end :)

How many puns will I use with the word INSANE in the next 2 months?

Stick around and you will find out!

I decided to blog about my new INSANE idea.. about trying the whole INSANITY work out routine/diet. I typically am a healthy eater, considering I am a vegetarian and all but I am always the same size and would like a good kick in the butt. I'm not doing this because I think I'm fat or anything, I just want to be fit and healthy :) I thought it would be a cool way to end my semester as a nursing student. I had it in mind that whenever I graduate and have more time to work out, etc that it would be really easy for me to lose more weight but why not start now? My life is already insane (okay I'll stop) as it is so I might as well just go ahead and start the program.

Considering I ate pizza for dinner (Okay, so most of the time I eat good), and that tomorrow I have a 12 hour clinical from 7AM-7PM, I plan to start Sunday the 24th. This will put me at around Christmas time.

I'm blogging to the world about this because I refuse to be one of those people who say they are going to do something and flake out, so this is my way of keeping myself accountable. So, feel free to ask me how its going, or if you see me eying cookies or something.. you have my permission to tackle me down. And maybe it will motivate someone else to do it to!

I'm going to post before pictures soon and NO I am not posting pictures online in my bikini. But I think it will be fun to see the difference after!

Wish me luck!!
